Re: A Phoenix's Wrath
Elyane was one of the first few to notice the girl hung up on the walls, but had scrambled to find someone capable of bringing her down. Elyane was fully capable herself, being a fairy she could command the wood to bring her down. However Elyane was not confident that even the plants would be capable of allowing such a gentle task to be done.
What hurts her the most about this was how this girl became a sort of inspiration for Elyane. Often that girl would come to the bar for a drink. She was a year younger than the supposed legal age, so Elyane had always given her something healthier, and she was sure the girl knew, but drank it anyway. The girl always came back for more, even with scratches and bruises from training.
Soon, Zelya arrived. Elyane remembered how she was allowed sanctuary here despite not being a member of the guild. Elyane was treated like friend, no family, among these walls. They reminded her of her days in the Scar, where they despite their past, looked for the future. Even further back was the elder fairies, one who now rests closer to her than she ever imagined, despite it being a cruel fate. Fairy hearts were proven to be the only magical resource for wands and staves after all. Most mages could not handle the powers the fae have, imagine the very fairies themselves wielding their own hearts.
Elyane however found herself being looked directly at, the amber eyes that burnt like a bonfire at midnight. It was a scary, yet calming sight. It had power, but also care. Elyane wondered why she was called out. However it was not her choice to truly decide. The guild mistress has strong fair judgement, and it was probably for the best. Grabbing her lyre, she follows the small party to the carriage.
"I'll sit in the back if you all don't mind..." Elyane hops on the back of the carriage, a seat usually taken by whoever is watching the back. However provided no shelter and the only security was a handle to hold on to. Even if she was pressed to enter, Elyane would sit outside. After all, she knows the Cerberus guy likes his coffee, and she has allergies. The last thing Elyane needed was to blow up the carriage with a sneeze.

Re: A Phoenix's Wrath
Elyane could hear the conversation from the back. It was odd to think about it, how their enigmatic culprit could saunter into a guild and brutally hurt a guild member, and travel so far to do it. Elyane had personal never known what the ocean looks like, though remembering a story her elders once told her, it was apparantly a massive body of water, larger than a lake, larger than a waterfall and even bigger than the forest. Elyane could not fathom the size of it. However the silence Elyane felt was not something she wished to hear.
A tune begins to be strummed on Elyane's lyre, her voice becomes to resonate in an alto, then soprano. The tunes hung eerily, then as the song progresses, the melody begins to quicken and begun to take an upbeat, as if telling the lucky listener to cheer up, every storm comes a clear sky afterwards. Elyane does not notice the cart even stop as she played.
Elyane was brought back by the guild mistress and the fairy quickly turns herself to give Zelya her attention. Zelya had just tasked her a heavy decision. It was up to them to decide their evil-doer's fate, and being a fae, Elyane was not sure how to respond. Elyane then looks to her harp and rubs a small area, feeling the magic resonate.
"Leave it to the High King, it may not what everyone would want at the guild, but the grudge of many does not mean we did any justice. Brutally hurting our culprit makes us no different than him," Elyane manages to answer. Elyane remembers, not all humans are bad. She may be paranoid towards some of them, but to be one in heart and soul does not provide a mending.
However now that she was brought back from her realm of music, Elyane couldn't help but notice the big floating wooden boxes on the water. They came in so many odd shapes like, big floating wooden box shape and another big floating wooden box shape. Elyane curiously asked outloud what those are without realizing it.
Nothing prepared Elyane for the next few things she saw. Shady men and one very shady getting his body abused by Zelya. Elyane looked around nervous, she could tell some of them recognize her, and some had lecherous eyes on them. The Cerberus's question made Elyane think to, and her elders never did talk much about the Kitsune. So Elyane makes a wild guess.
"I-I guess it depends on the Kitsune...?" Elyane whispered back, before looking at the crowd around her. These men were slavers, people who force the weaker into labor with no pay. Elyane then looks towards the Golden Phoenix's Guild Mistress.
"A woman who would dedicate any resource to the source of one..." Elyane stared before looking around. The men were already working, the crippled captain hobbling thighs pressed to ease the pain. The fairy was in danger of being found out. There was no excuse Elyane could give in the open waters. The sea salt tickled her nostrils, the wind threatening to make her sneeze. Elyane had to hold it in, sneezing would trigger a cloud of fairy dust.
Elyane decided to descend down below the deck, not letting anyone know. To her horror, Elyane saw dried blood, whips and chains, cages with hair and dust. Is this what a boat is suppose to look like? Elyane cautiously moved about and explored. The girl could hear the chains shake with a sharp chink as the boat went over the waves, and she moved slightly deeper.
"Oi!" Elyane sharply turn around to see a man, who she noted was not a presence on the deck, wielding a cutlad (I mean cutlass) and approaching her with a snarled expression. "Outsiders ain't allowed in the boat, unless you be a slave that was hiding!" The man switched his weapon for a whip that hung on the walls. Elyane could see the dried blood across the fibres. The man would lift his whip, and Elyane screamed, and it was like a shrill of a banshee (not the class the monster spirit). Guess singing made her voice very easy to project. Elyane was cowering, bracing for a hit to come.

Re: A Phoenix's Wrath
Elyane would slowly look up after hearing a second voice and no whip crack, only the sudden thud of a heavy object hitting a wooden surface. Elyane sighed in relief to find that it was the Cerberus that followed them, and for once he did not had the scent of coffee on him. Elyane shly managed to thank the Cerberus, after all she probably broke a few ear drums with her cry, and lasting she need was to make Zelya have more responsibility on her shoulders, let alone having to compensate for broken ears.
The Cerberus's question caught Elyane off guard. What is a sea? Elyane only knew of lakes, puddles and rivers. However it strikes Elyane what the Cerberus meant.
"N-no sir, to be truthful I never actually seen a water body as large as the one we are on now." Elyane was aware of the size differences between humans and the Fae. To the fairies, one can drown in a puddle, be struck out of the air by a falling dew or raindrop, even worse be lost on a flowing stream. Rivers, lakes and waterfalls were larger human sized versions of these hazards. Sometimes Elyane would cower in her room whenever it rains, thinking it could bring her down to the ground with a loud wet splat.
Hearing the Cerberus's reply did not make Elyane feel to comfortable about this whole place, and she kept her mouth shut about the whole incident. Violence is not an answer, even if it is unintentional.
Elyane could not believe Zelya was capable of such a tone. One part of Elyane wanted to laugh, the other however had a sense of longing and fear. The fairy did miss her family, and most likely they assume her dead. Elyane with remorse and guilt looks down and quietly apologizes.
Elyane usually did not eat meals, often going for fruits and veggies. If questioned, Elyane would simply reply that she grew up eating fruits and vegetables, and that it was enough for her. However in the days of trival activities, Elyane found herself curious to what the captain's food offer was, but restrained herself due to Zelya's warning.
The fairy soon found herself being a topic among the crew of the ship. Often they point out her clothing, a material they recognized as Ironleaf. While the plant the leaves come from is not rare, the place where these leaves are often located as considered dangerous for many reasons. The man who tried to whip her sometimes cower around her, possibly believing the rumor that Elyane is secretly a really strong person. However there is a topic that proves to be the top of the board, her wings.
Elyane has woken up in nights with a member or two looking inside to see the wings. However Elyane always slept with the clothing on, and once or twice almost shot a man right between the eyes in the darkness. Elyane would often overhear some dicussion about a bet to grab Elyane's wings. It angers the fairy slightly that her wings are considered a toy, but at least they have yet to figure out that the wings were organic.
However when Elyane gets the peace and quiet, she would stand at the bow, staring right towards their forward and spread her arms out, feeling the ocean breeze and smelling the salted winds. It was all so many new feelings. Elyane would blissfully enjoy the rays of the sun, and today, started to sing.
